Best Rose Perfumes To Add To Your Collection

Sonal Trivedi

Rose perfumes are both classic and contemporary. There are endless varieties of rose fragrances for each type of fragrance enthusiast, whether you prefer traditional roses, flirtatious flowery, spicy scents, or refreshing aromas. It all relies on the combination of olfactory elements.

The rose is an expressive, brilliant, and ageless emblem of romance and elegance. This venerable and most treasured bloom is steeped in antiquity and folklore, though its pure essence and scent have mostly been limited to the privileged. Roses elicit reminiscence, delight, and a plethora of emotional memories. It's hard to walk by a tumbling rose without absorbing its aroma, which is always accompanied by an ellipsis of ecstasy or a melancholy sigh.

How Rose Perfumes Were Derived?

The rose has a long legacy in fragrances. Centuries ago, roses were bred into blowsy heterosis, and these little wild roses were utilised to make rosewater, perfumed oils, and numerous scents. The origins may be traced back to China. Bulgaria produces the world's most significant quantity of rose oil.

Freshly blooms are manually gathered in the early hours and are steam-distilled to produce the essential oil; however, this procedure must be completed swiftly to prevent fermentation. In rose fragrances, two species  are well-known and nurtured for their exquisite scent: damask rose, also referred to as "Turkish rose," and centifolia rose, also recognised as "May rose" or "Grasse rose."

DIY Way To Make Attar Of Roses:

Attar of rose, employed for centuries in antiquity, is now acquiring enormous appeal in western culture. Fragrance aficionados adore it, quickly replacing other perfumes as people's favourite preference. Let's learn the simple DIY steps of making it at your convenience:

Requisites for making rose attar at home:

  • A huge ceramic pot
  • Pure & authentic sandalwood oil
  • Fragrant & fresh rose petals
  • A strainer & a syringe
  • A roll-on container for preserving the rose attar

Steps To Make:

  • Soak the rose in the sandalwood oil in the container. Then, using the lid, tightly seal the container.
  • You must now store this container in a murky, dry environment for around two weeks.
  • After two weeks, remove the container's cover and crush the roses using a hand blender. This allows the roses to emit even more aroma.
  • Once more, carefully close the container's lid and leave it in the exact location until next week.
  • Using a strainer & a syringe, transfer your flower attar to a glass roll-on container.
  • Your DIY attar of roses is ready to use.
  • Store it away from direct sunlight.
