Bronzed Makeup Looks
Payal Bhattacharya
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard the term, “bronzed look” or “bronzed makeup”, several times now. Capitalizing on natural skin color, bronzed makeup looks are essentially a way to make you look beautiful and sun-loving. The best part? With this look, you can rock summer vibes all the year round!
What Is Bronzed Makeup?
Bronzed makeup is all about getting that young and summery tan with just a few products. The look gives your skin some depth and life, balancing perfectly between natural and glam. The goal is to achieve a natural bronze makeup look that brings out your best features.
How to Do a Bronzed Makeup Look
The key to getting the perfect bronzed look is to make the tan look natural. Even though the bronzer goes over the base, blending it well can help achieve a more natural bronzed look.
Pick all your natural-toned makeup and let's work on a breezy bronzed look!
Bronzed Lips:
Let’s start easy by creating plump, bronzed lips.
Step 1: Grab your Nude Lip Liner and carefully line your lips. You can also use the liner to fill out your lips completely to provide a solid base for the rest of your look.

Step 2: Apply some Bronze Lipstick evenly across your lips. To elevate the look, use a darker shade of liner to deepen the edges of your lips.

Step 3: Add some gloss to make your lips pop in any light. You could leave your lips matte as well!
Step 4: Add just a touch of a Gold Highlight to your cupid’s bow and that helps you get that beautiful, natural glow you’ve been looking for.

Bronzed Face:
With any look, the base is the most important part. Let’s look at how to create the perfect bronzy base for an au naturel look.
Step 1: Prep your skinny applying a Primer before applying an even coat of your regular foundation over your face.

Step 2: Grab your Bronzer and apply it to the hollows of your cheeks, jawline, temples, and the sides of your nose. Make sure that you blend it out carefully.

Step 3: Remember those earthy-toned blushes you thought no one really uses? Pull them out now and add a Blush to the apples of your cheeks. You can also apply just the tiniest bit of blush to the tip of your nose and chin!

Step 4: Go grab that Highlighter and add a touch along your cheekbones, at the tip of your nose, on your cupid's bow, and underneath the arch of your eyebrow. Make sure that the spotlight is always on you with just a little bit of highlight.

Bronzed Eyes:
Bronze makeup is great for highlighting your natural beauty; your eyes can’t excluded.
Step 1: Prep your eyelids with some Makeup Primer before applying some neutral Brown Eyeshadow across them. Use a darker shade of brown for the outer edges of your eyes. Remember, too many shades spoil the broth...or bronze in this case. Keep it simple and natural and make sure that you blend thoroughly.

Step 2: Use some Kajal or Pencil Liner to line your eyes. You could opt for a Brown Kajal for some extra oomph.

Step 3: Use Brow Mascara to make your eyebrows neat. Emphasize your eyelashes with Mascara for a perfect finish to the look. Your natural-but-not-really bronze eye makeup is now complete!

Tips and Tricks:
Bronzed makeup is a beautiful and fun look to create. There are a few tips and tricks that take your look from “blah” to “wow.”
- Don’t forget to spritz your face with some makeup setter for a long-lasting look.
- Blend. Blend. Blend. Bronze makeup is usually created with makeup that is darker than your natural skin tone. Make sure that you blend thoroughly or you’ll be left with some very confusing dark patches.
- Your face is not the only part of you that got evenly roasted in the “sun”. Make sure that you use some bronze self-tanner in order to even out the skin tone between your face and body!
- Bronze isn’t just for summer. Lean into the look anytime by adding a pop of color to your makeup. Natural bronze eye makeup with some red lipstick makes for a sensational winter look!
Now, with just a little bit of bronzer and patience, you can get that glowing summer tan all the year round!
