Korean Makeup Trends for the Summer
1. Red Lips with a side of dewy skin

Red is the new black in the k-beauty-verse. The k-pop idols are switching up their all-time fav; pink gradient lips for a bold red pout. But what stays the same is their flawless glass-like finish. And it goes perfectly well with bright red lipstick.
To recreate the look:
- Prep with Purplle True Jewel 24k Gold Primer.
- Then go in with the Swiss Beauty Pearl Iluminator Makeup Base in Golden Pink.
- For the lips, line them with Wet n Wild Color Icon Lipliner Pencil in Berry Red.
- Swipe on NY Bae Runway Liquid Lipstick with Argan Oil in Red Designer Spotlights undeniable power and conquer your k-beauty dream.
2. S-PEACH-less Cheeks

A trend you must not! We repeat! Do not miss out on it! Shades of blush have become more saturated this year than the previous years. The Korean yeoja's (meaning women) are currently experimenting with soft-peach toned blush to give a striking yet aegyo look.
To achieve this look:
- Brush on a powder blush like MyGlamm K Play Flavoured Blush in Sweet Peach for that naturally saturated flush.
- If you want to dial it up a bit, colour your pout with the juicy Revolution Relove Baby Tint in Coral.
But if you're on the warmer tone, try a bronze shade, which is more natural and chic, like the Swiss Beauty Blusher in Bronze.
3. Bringing it back Y2K style

You may already know that Y2K makeup took the spotlight in 2021. But with the Koreans always leaning toward youthful-looking Makeup, this trend strutted right into 2022 as well.
Idols express their playful side with Y2K aesthetics in their MV's, stage
performances, etc. Take this pastel-toned eyeshadow look seen on Taeyeon.
- Brighten your summer with the Makeup Revolution X Roxxsaurus Colour Burst Shadow Palette.
- Complete the nostalgic look with arched brows, and Renee See Me Shine Lip Gloss in Pink Pow Wow.
4. Live the Idol lash-life

A trend that's here to stay. You've definitely seen this on all your favourite k-idols either in their MVs or in real life. Extreme long, pumped up lashes have taken over. The look comes together by applying mascara and then using tweezers to clump the lashes together to create a volumizing effect. Remember, this needs to be done quickly before the mascara dries up otherwise, you'll end up with chunky, flaky lashes. And don't forget to
keep the eyeshadow muted so that those lashes can do all the talking.
All you need is the L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Waterproof Mascara and Colorbar Wow Brows Slant Tip Tweezer.
5. Deep Berry-licious Lips

If there's one lipstick shade you've got to pucker upto this year it's a berry-toned mauve one. The lilac grape-like shades are ruling over pouts in South Korea, adding a bit of edginess to their makeup looks.
It not only adds a punch to your look but also brings out the radiance in your skin.
You can either slide on a jam-hued lippie or opt for a mauve to go with healthy glowing skin. Remember to keep the colour focused on the centre of the lips without extending to the edges.
Take on the trend with:
- Lakme Sun Expert Ultra Matte SPF 40 Compact Powder for smooth, dewy skin.
- Colour your pout pretty with Stay Quirky Liquid Lipstick in Purple Millennial Slang or Purplle Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick in Amethyst Affair.
So which one are you going to try first? We went ahead and tried everything on this list. And now we are totally obsessed with these looks. If you're just like us, go on and don your beautiful face with these super cute looks and feel like your fav idol or the lead from your fav K-drama.
