Should not be exposed to air for longer duration as MgSO4 (epsom salt) reacts with air and will turn white. Our Epsom salt is fragrance and preservative free. Great product at great price. The salt relieves pain on repeated usage however you can see the swelling go down after one use itself. ( If you're someone with terrible foot ache as me). The salt does have some impurities but that doesn't affect what it's supposed to do so it's a win-win. Go for it.Thanks purple
