What are the different eyeshadow looks?

Eye makeup may seem pretty intimidating, given how little the area is to work upon. Nevertheless, eyeshadows are the most handy and versatile makeup items. With a little guidance and practice, you will be able to ace the various types of eyeshadow looks. Some of the most common and widely known looks are: Smokey eye, Cat-eye, No-makeup makeup look, Shimmery, Halo, Cut-crease and Gradient

Despite eye makeup being elusive, they're the most integral part of your entire look. Eyes reflect your personality, confidence and overall appearance. Be it the simple no-makeup look or party-ready glamorous look, we have you covered. Here are 5 iconic yet easy  eyeshadow looks you can try:

1) Smokey eye makeup

This look is best suited to people who have deep and hooded eyes. While attempting a smokey eye look, there’s a thin line between downright sexy and a sooty mess. Here’s how you can achieve it: Choose a medium shade of your liking, possibly greys or browns. Start by applying the eyeshadow all over your eyelid with the help of your eyeshadow brush. Gently blend out the eyeshadow to avoid any harsh lines. Apply a pencil liner along your lash line. Smudge it out and blend it to the outer corner of the eye to achieve that smokey look. If you want a more intense look, you can apply the liner to your crease and blend it out for a more dramatic, smokey effect.

2) Festive Gold look

The festive season is around the corner and we thought to give you a little head start on your Gold eye makeup looks. Follow these steps to get that bright and gorgeous look. Start by drawing a semi-circle on the upper crease of your eye, with the help of a pencil liner. Then, apply a gold eyeshadow on the inner eye and gently sweep the shadow to the outer corner and finally to the upper crease. Ensure that you blend it smoothly with a flat eye shadow brush. To give this look some final touches, draw a winged eyeliner on the upper lash line and put on some mascara. Lastly, dab some glitter and you are party-ready!

3) No-makeup makeup look

Who doesn’t like to have an effortless and glowing face? Here’s how you can pull off the minimal makeup look in just a few steps. Start by prepping your lid with a primer and then, apply a nude shade that suits your skin tone. Get a blending brush, a light eyeshadow shade and define your upper crease. Smoothen the colours gently so there are no harsh lines. Now, fill in the eyelid with a soft colour. Apply a simple thick eyeliner, a thick mascara and you are good to go!

4) Classic cat-eye

The one common thing that all the 50s movies had, in particular, is the dramatic cat eyes makeup. Now that it’s back in style, you can try the same look by following these guidelines- Firstly, apply a primer for your eyelids, then choose a nude shade of your liking and dab it all over your lids. With the help of a brush, draw a deep eyeshadow of a darker shade (possibly grey or dark blue) on the outer corner of the eye and over the crease. Now, use a kohl pencil to define the waterline and draw the outline of your winged eyeliner. Use a liquid eyeliner to fill in the traced area. You can keep it simple or go for a more dramatic look by choosing different shimmers or metallic shadows.

5) Shimmery Ombre Eyeshadow

Bring dimension to your eyes with gradient eyeshadows by following these easy steps. A major part of this look is the blending of colours. You can either choose different shades of the same colour or contrasting colours that go well. Start by prepping your eyelid with a primer. Then, using the lightest shade, colour the inner corner of the eyes. The next step is to colour in the next two shades, depending on their hues, and blending them. Blend in a circular motion along with the shape of your eyeball and the outer V-shape of your eye. The final step is to apply eyeliner and smudge towards the end to get that smokey effect.
