Nail Designs You Can Easily Do At Home
Payal Bhattacharya
We get it, nail art sounds hard especially when some of the nail paint design looks like art pieces kept in a museum. But trust us when we say that your freshly painted nails can look beautiful and artistic too with just a few easy steps. So even if you are not the greatest art enthusiasts or amazing nail technicians, you can get aesthetic looking nails easily and at home. Here are few different nail paint designs to get you going:

Emphasizing Your Tips:
From painting your tips in different shades to adding a layer of shimmer over it, simply painting your tips so that the rest of the nail remains a subtle nude is the new way of accentuating your nails and their length. This gives your nails some elegance and style. You can also try using complementary colors for your nail tops or going for a velvet finish up there. Basically, just throw in your imagination and replace the cliche french manicured tips for something different and vibrant.
Mismatched:
A personal favorite nail polish design remains in the art of simplicity. This one just requires you to choose an array of complementary shades, usually in one tone and apply a different one to each of your nails. A set can be made in so many shades of different colors ranging from sky blues to rainbow shades to a myriad shades of brown, green and reds. You can also go for a faded or a pastel palette or an autumn one to keep your nails in trend.
Dots:
Another easy nail design lies when you simply arrange dots on your nails. You can do this over nails glazed with a transparent nail polish or one doused in a different color. But if you have a layer of transparent nail polish underneath, we recommend trying different types of colored dots in vibrant shades and sizes to make your nails look cool and funky. If you are doing it over a colorful shade however, we suggest using maximum one or two shades for your dots to not overpower the original color lying underneath.
Doodles:
Nothing screams simple nail ideas than lazy doodles made over them. So ranging from different smileys etched over your fingernails to different kinds of flowers, hearts and other shapes, you can let your imagination do it’s thing and make abstract doodles over your nails. To make this more effective, you can also draw interconnecting lines or geometric shapes that cut over the edge of your nail and make all of them in different rainbow-like shades above a transparent gel nail paint layer.
Bright Stripes:
Imagine a French manicure but vertical. You can try doing different shades of the same color on your nails and proceeding in a rainbow palette over the rest of your nail. Basically, try adding shades of red and orange on one finger, then green on another, then blue and so on and so forth. If that’s too much, you can simply make it into two shades and keep it the same throughout your fingers for a rich, classy look.
It’s easy really to do nail polish designs over your nails, all you need is a little bit of patience and a vision to get what you want. But as we approach the end of the year and the festive season draws close, we can surely put a bit more effort to make sure our nails look pretty and glammed up for the parties and festivities coming our way.
